Individual and functional pots, home and garden, using traditional oriental glazes.
Maureen has been making pots for over 25 years. Functionality is the essential element behind her designs, whether it be a humble mug or large pebble planter for the garden.
Inspired by the connection with Japan and the legacy of Bernard Leach, the glazes used are traditional oriental glazes, often using wax resist technique between the glazes. Glaze experimentation is ongoing and further influenced by travel in Japan.
The garden pots encompass mark making, traditional amongst African people, where Maureen lived for a number of years.
Maureen is a member of Anglian Potters, Norfolk Contemporary Craft Society and the Craft Potters Association.
