Digital art, homewares and upcycled furniture at Ilka Interiors, plus the all-new West Acre Gallery next door.
From her West Acre studio Abbey creates quirky homewares and upcycled furniture, including decoupage lamp and light shades using vintage graphics, retro side tables with hairpin legs, and a new range of exclusively designed luxury cushions.
Her digital art bridges the abstract and figurative, often incorporating the written word. She is inspired by expressionism and street art, noting Basquiat and Dan Baldwin as influences for their energetic political imagery and sinister layered symbolism. Her latest digital artworks for Norfolk & Norwich Open Studios 2019 are printed on canvas or watercolour paper and incorporate various lyrics by David Bowie.
Abbey launches West Acre Gallery this April to coincide with the 2019 open studios scheme, which includes a west Norfolk taster exhibition featuring 25 local artists from April 25 to May 2.
Studio address: Ilka Interiors, Abbey Farm, River Road, West Acre, Norfolk PE32 1UA
Directions: From the A47 take Narford Road to River Road. On the corner of River Road and Sandy Lane (just up from West Acre Theatre) enter Abbey Farm and follow the signs to West Acre Gallery.
